Anthony’s story begins as a child growing up with the lures of the urban streets that were ever prevalent, but it was his mother and grandmother’s prayers and sacrifices that kept Anthony grounded. When so many youth who have fallen victim to society’s woes; Anthony, like the phoenix from the fire, rose above such challenges to walk bold in greatness. Even when the world said, “college is not for you and you might as well drop out,” he continued to press toward the mark. He now credits himself as a sought-after mentor, educational leader and motivational speaker.

For ten years Anthony has been the lead male figure on Another Look Cable Television. Another Look is a locally aired cable television program, in nearly 1.4 million homes, on the Time Warner Cable Northeast Ohio Network. Anthony along with Stephanie Phelps, Cynthia Barnes and Nicole Ward hosts the program each week. They give viewers Another Look at news, sports, entertainment, the arts, special events and more – in and around Northeast Ohio.
In addition, Anthony is an educator for more than ten years; an active member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and advisor to the Alpha ESQuires-the fraternity’s male mentoring/youth development program; a graduate and alumni admissions counselor for Bethune-Cookman University; a member of the Israelite Missionary Baptist Church; a special consultant/coach for the National Step Show Alliance, and president of A. B.etter Way Productions, LLC and There is A. B.etter Way Foundation.
Anthony has also been featured in various print editions of the “Who’s Who in Black Cleveland.” He has earned his many successes as a result of his hard work, dedication and faith in God. Anthony’s greatest success that brings him the most joy is being a father to his son, Anthony, II.
For over fifteen years Anthony served the National Alumni Council of the United Negro College Fund in various local, regional and national leadership roles.
In addition to his undergraduate degree in mass communications from Bethune-Cookman, he has earned teacher certification credits at Notre Dame College of Ohio (South Euclid, OH) and has a Masters of Education in the area of Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana Wesleyan University (Marion, IN). Anthony is currently enrolled in the Education Administration certification courses at Ashland University (Ashland, OH).
Now all of these accomplishments weren’t certainly handed to him on a silver plate as some would assume. Growing up in a single parent home was not always easy, yet he doesn’t regret any moment of that experience. But that’s how the story ends, now with two degrees and two certificates later, he currently pursuing yet another advanced degree to further his quest to serve as an agent of change in his community. Anthony is a living example that God has been just that good, and if He never does anything else, God has already done enough.
